Abstract
For all kinds of application of phase conjugation (PC) it is important to know about the fidelity of the phase conjugation. We used an interferometric method to determine this figure of merit for two set-ups of phase conjugation, realized with a self- pumped PC in BaTiO3 and in four-wave mixing (FWM) using sillenite crystals, respectively. Here, we compare this method with the most applied one, the pinhole method (or 'energy in bucket' method), and show the advantages.
