Point-by-point inscription of microfiber Bragg gratings using femtosecond laser pulses

Abstract

Microfiber Bragg gratings have been successfully fabricated by femtosecond laser point-by-point inscription. Temporal thermal response of the induced microfiber gratings have been tested by means of periodic CO2 laser irradiation to create a rapid temperature change for the fiber.
