Abstract

In this paper, two compression algorithms of Huffman and Lempel-Ziv-Welch (LZW) are comparatively studied to effectively compress the huge amount of data of typical fully distributed optical fiber sensors (DOFSs), e.g. Φ-OTDR, P-OTDR, and BOTDA systems.
