Abstract

Self-injection locking is a versatile method of producing the narrow spectral bandwidths required for accurate remote sensing applications. As remote sensing applications require laser energies on the order of 1.0 J/pulse, either a power oscillator or a master oscillator and power amplifier approach could be exploited. Since Ti:Al2O3 has a high gain, the latter concept can be employed to advantage.
