Abstract

An investigation of the temperature dependence of the energy transfer processes between Cr and Nd in GSGG in the temperature range 77-660K was presented in the previous meeting of this conference(1). Two relevant results were found: i) The integrated intensity and the lifetime of the Cr emission have different temperature dependences in the temperature range 77-660K in both samples GSGG: Cr and GSGG: Cr, Nd (see Fig. 1) and ii) the nonradiative Cr to Nd energy transfer rate has a strong temperature dependence (it increases with increasing temperature). We have recently considered the possibilty that these two facts are related in some way.
