Characteristics of Neodymium Yttrium Aluminum Borate as a Diode-Pumped Laser Material

Abstract

The physical and optical properties of NYAB crystal are investigated. The crystal has high nonlinear optical coefficients and exhibits strong absorption at 804 nm that allows for diode laser pumping of the crystal. Direct green laser emission at 0.53 μm from self frequency doubling of the crystal is obtained.
