Spectroscopic Investigation of the Cr4+-Center in YAG

Abstract

By comparison with other Cr4+ hosts the low temperature absorption and fluorescence spectra of Cr4+:YAG are interpreted. The lifetime measurements reveal strong phonon coupling as well as nonradiative transitions at room-temperature.
