Abstract

Single-mode lasing of holmium1 and neodymium2 YAG has been demonstrated in monolithic crystals using Fabry-Perot resonators. The previous demonstration in the holmium laser required TE cooling the crystal to−15 celcius in order to achieve threshold. This work extends that result demonstrating +25 celcius operation in a 1mm thick plano/plano resonator.
