Abstract

Tuning of a parametric oscillator by means of tuning the pump laser as well as injection seeding on the nonresonant wavelength have both been demonstrated. Tuning of the pump laser, a Ho:Tm:YLF laser, was complicated by atmospheric absorption features but continuous tuning was achieved by mitigating the effects of atmospheric absorption. Injection seeding of the nonresonant signal was demonstrated using a 3.39 μm HeNe laser with an output power of only a few mW. Without injection seeding, the AgGaSe2 parametric oscillator had a slope efficiency in excess of 0.35.
