Abstract

The results of detailed spectroscopic analysis of LiCAF:Ce single crystals, the first ultraviolet tunable solid-state laser active medium with nonexcimer pumping, are reported. The main reason of difference between the obtained and predicted conversion efficiency of LiCAF:Ce laser is explained proceeding from the multi-site activation nature taking place in the samples studied.
