Abstract

A 0.5 W tunable UV source is obtained by sum mixing the output of a tunable 1540 nm, near-non-critically phase-matched, KTP optical parametric oscillator, with the third harmonic of Nd:YAG at 355 nm. Conversion of 1064 nm to 289 nm, is 30 % efficient.
