Abstract

The desirable properties of the Nd-based solid-state laser for generation of tunable radiation for lidar-type applications are high brightness, high repetition rate, high energy per pulse, short pulses and high efficiency. The combination of these attributes can be obtained in a diode-pumped Nd-YAG slab laser which is the subject of this paper.
