Abstract

Power scaling of miniature Nd:YAG ring lasers to several Watt single-frequency output power is demonstrated. A new crystal design with a negative curved front facet allows partial compensation of the thermally induced lens inside the active medium. Injection locking further increases the available single-frequency output power.
