Femtosecond modelocked Yb:YAG lasers

Abstract

We passively modelocked a Yb:YAG laser using high-finesse and low-finesse antiresonant Fabry-Perot saturable absorbers and achieved pulses as short as 540 fs at either 1.03 μm or 1.05 μm.
