Abstract

A high power noncritically phase-matched cw mode-locked KTA OPO is reported. The OPO is pumped by a diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 oscillator amplifier system generating 2 1 W at 1.06 μm (pulse width 10 ps, repetition rate 84 MHz). The output power of the singly resonant OPO is 9 W for the 1.54 μm signal and 4 W for the 3.47 μm idler wave. The total output of 13 W corresponds to an internal conversion efficiency of 68 %. The pulses of the signal wave are bandwidth-limited with a typical pulse width of 10 ps.
