BBO Electro-Optical Q-Switch at 1.54 μm

Operation of a diode-pumped Erbium doped phosphate glass laser using a BBO Pockel’s cell Q-switch has been demonstrated. Bursts of pulses were produced with energies of 7 mJ per pulse at a repetition rate of up to 3 KHz.
