Abstract

An end-pumped MOPA configuration Nd:YAG laser delivering a 1.064-μm energy of 50 mJ when pumped with three 1-kW high-brightness stacks was demonstrated. Frequency quadrupling led to a 8-mJ-0.266-μm energy (with the second amplifier off). The laser was air-cooled for easy-use.
