Abstract
A nonlinear optical crystal, GdxY1−xCa4O(BO3)3 (x=0.275), is noncritically phase matchable for third-harmonic generation of a Nd:YAG laser by type I mixing between 1.064 and 0.532 µm at room temperature. We found that this crystal is also noncritically phase matchable for type II second-harmonic generation of a Nd:YAG laser along the same direction. The characteristic properties of second-harmonic generation are reported in this paper.
