Abstract

Compact, efficient sources based on seeded, high-power, cladding-pumped fiber-amplifiers have been used in c.w. and pulsed (nanosecond and picosecond) modes at average powers up to 10 W for efficient conversion to the visible in PPLN and PPKTP. With picosecond (~200ps) excitation of PPKTP up to 6W average power at 530 nm was obtained. This was used to synchronously pump a self-starting Kerr lens mode locked Ti:Sapphire laser generating sub 100fs pulses.
