A 10kHz PPLN OPO Operating in a Region of Very High Idler Absorption

Abstract

We report the operation of a PPLN OPO pumped with a 1.0 micron Q-switched laser and operating in a region of very high idler absorption. Over 23% pump depletion is obtained with an idler absorption coefficient of 20 cm−1.
