Endothermic Cross-Relaxation in Tm3+ Doped YCI3

Abstract

The temperature dependence between 300 and 500 K is reported for Tm3+ fluorescence in the low-phonon host YCl3. An increase in 1200 nm fluorescence as the temperature rises is evidence of an endothermic cross-relaxation process.
