Measurements of Mode Losses in ~50µm Core Resonantly Enhanced Leakage Channel Fibers

Abstract

Advanced large-core-fiber designs exploit differential mode losses. There are concerns whether such designed mode losses can be realized in fibers. We confirmed this to be true, with >20dB/m HOM loss measured in low-index-coated ~50µm core LCF.
