Abstract
High harmonic generation of coherent soft x-ray radiation is achieved with two-cycle pulses in neon. The pulses are delivered by a fiber laser pumped optical parametric chirped pulse amplifier. Despite tight focusing we achieve, at a repetition rate of 180 kHz, 3·107photons/s at 130 eV and photons energies above 200 eV due to the use of highly pressurized gas jets. The scalable laser technology promises to further boost the photon flux in the future. This source is expected to significantly decrease measurement times of subsequent applications.
