Abstract

Nonlinear fiber compression of pulses generated by a Kerr-lens modelocked thin-disk oscillator to 15 fs at 0.5 µJ, 20 W is reported. Additional spectral broadening in bulk sapphire leads to a Fourier limit of 8 fs.
