Abstract

We have used a femtosecond fiber amplifier with >20W average power and >100µJ pulse energy for trepanning drilling in stainless steel. High quality drilling results and fast drilling times were obtained thanks to the femtosecond pulse duration and by optimizing the drilling strategy.
