The impact of photodarkening on mode instabilities in high-power fiber laser systems

Abstract

In this contribution we describe the impact of photodarkening on mode instabilities. It is shown that even very small amounts of photodarkening can lead to a very significant increase of the heat load in high-power fiber laser systems.
