Terahertz parametric oscillator sources

Abstract

Since 1992, we have been studying the parametric wavelength conversion in nonlinear crystals at the ‘frequency gap’ region called terahertz-wave. The widely tunable terahertz-wave parametric oscillator (TPO) and the terahertz-wave parametric generator (TPG) are not only compact but also room temperature operated, making them suitable as practical sources. The narrow linewidth and wide tunability are possible in injection-seeded TPO/TPG (is-TPO/TPG) with single-longitudinal-mode near-infrared pumping and seeding beams.
