Abstract

Thermal lens and microchip laser operation were studied for Yb:YGG, Yb:LuGG, Yb:CNGG and Yb:CLNGG. A diode-pumped Yb:LuGG laser generated a maximum output power of 9.0 W at 1040 nm with 75% slope efficiency.
