Spectroscopic properties and laser operation of Pr,Gd:CaF2 crystal

Abstract

The spectroscopic properties of Pr:CaF2 and Pr, Gd:CaF2 crystals were measured. We report on cw laser oscillation at 642nm of Pr, Gd:CaF2 crystal. The highest laser power of 22.2mW is achieved with slope efficiency of 7.5%.
