Addressing Spectral Narrowing in Cryogenic Yb:YAG: a 10 mJ Cryogenic Yb:YLF Regenerative Amplifier

Abstract

We report a Yb:YLF based 10 mJ-class cryogenically-cooled regenerative amplifier with 2.1 nm FWHM spectral bandwidth. This system demonstrates the feasibility of high energy, sub-ps cryogenic lasers as an alternative to room temperature Yb:YAG.
