High gain, high power Nd3+ fiber laser at 1427 nm

Abstract

19.2 dB of small signal gain and 1.2 W of average power at 1427 nm are demonstrated in an Nd3+ fiber amplifier. Waveguide design was employed to suppress amplification at 1µm.
