Investigation of Optical Defects in Titanium Doped Sapphire Crystals Grown by the Kyropoulos Technique

Abstract

Two optical defects responsible for intensity variations of the emitted laser beam are observed in Ti-doped sapphire crystals grown by Kyropoulos method. These defects are investigated and explained by means of numerical modeling and experiments.
