69 fs SESAM mode-locked Yb:GdYCOB oscillator

Abstract

We present an efficient femtosecond SESAM mode-locked oscillator based on a novel, ytterbium-doped “mixed” calcium oxoborate Ca4Gd0.24Y0.67O(BO3)3 (GdYCOB) crystal. With the usage of a single transverse-mode fiber-coupled diode laser emitting at 976 nm, near Fourier transform limited pulse duration of 69 fs centered at 1049.9 nm was obtained under the pulse repetition rate of 109 MHz.
