Abstract

We have demonstrated a passively Q-switched Er:Lu2O3 ceramic laser using a monolayer graphene saturable absorber. The stable pulsed operation with watt-level average power was performed, and the maximum pulse energy of 9.4 μJ and peak power of 33W were achieved in 250 ns pulse duration. They were highest pulse performances obtained by passively Q- switched Er:Lu2O3 lasers at 2.8 μm.
