Sub-40 fs, 2 W Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:CYA laser

We demonstrate a high power single-mode fiber laser pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:CYA solid-state laser. As high as 2.1 W average power with down to 36 fs pulse duration is obtained after extra-cavity compression.
