Abstract

We have successfully demonstrated a stable CW operation with output power of 24 W by an Er:ZBLAN fiber MOPA system at 2.8 μm wavelength. It is our unique technology that fabrication of a fluoride-fiber-based pump combiner which inhibits thermal loading of the fiber. We suggest such side-pump fiber MOPA system in order to realize power scaling by increasing the number of couplers with keeping the long-term stability.
