Abstract

Both positive- and negative-polarity Gaussian monocycle and doublet pulses are generated in an erbium-doped fiber laser from polarization-locked vector solitons. Analytic modeling of the laser properties is performed by solving the coupled complex Ginzburg-Landau equations.
