Design Solutions for Increased Thresholds of Non-Linear Processes in Silica Fiber

Abstract

Fiber design strategies for increased threshold of SBS and TMI are presented. We report a high efficiency erbium nanoparticle doped fiber incorporating acoustic guiding layers with a significantly reduced SBS gain coefficient.
