Cryogenically cooled gallium phosphide for optical rectification at high driving average powers

Abstract

We explore GaP at cryogenic temperatures for optical rectification (OR) at 100 W average excitation power for the first time. Our results indicate this is a promising route for broadband THz radiation using kW-class excitation.
