Monolithic Praseodymium-Doped Fiber Laser at 635 nm

Abstract

We report the first demonstration of a monolithic fiber laser in the visible. The laser cavity, based on a double-clad praseodymium-doped fiber spliced to a fiber Bragg grating, yields a record output power of 2.3 W at 635.5 nm.
