Simultaneous Spectral Broadening and Contrast Improvement Using Divided-Pulse Nonlinear Compression

Abstract

We experimentally verify an analytic model that includes alignment errors for the output pulse from divided-pulse nonlinear compression. The model shows how divided-pulse nonlinear compression can simultaneously broaden the pulse spectrum and improve the contrast.
