Investigation of the Optical Gain in a Compact Ho3+:YAG MOPA System

Abstract

We report on the gain properties of a Ho3+:YAG MOPA system pumped by a Tm3+ fiber laser with an amplifier slope efficiency of 33.6%. The gain of the compact MOPA is studied for varying pump and oscillator powers.
