Achievements and perspectives of laser ceramic materials: from pure to mixed oxides

Abstract

An excursus on the achievements in transparent ceramics doped with Yb and Tm for diode-pumped solid-state lasers is reported. Future perspectives of ceramics for visible lasers will be discussed.
