Ultrafast-Laser-Inscribed Type-II Waveguides in IG2 for Mid-Infrared Applications

Abstract

We report the ultrafast-laser inscription of type-II waveguides in the IG2 chalcogenide glass. The mid-infrared waveguiding properties are studied for various pulse energies and separations between the two written tracks, with a negligible loss demonstrated.
