Narrowband lasing in a multicore Yb-doped fiber with fs-inscribed FBG array

Abstract

Femtosecond-inscribed fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) in a 7-core Yb-doped fiber forming complex highly-reflective mirror enable narrowband generation with 33W power at 50W LD pumping. With coupled cores the linewidth is ~0.1nm in all power range.
