Theoretical Investigation into Backscattering in Optical Fiber Cladding Light Stripper

Abstract

The relationship between the roughness of the cladding surface and the backscattering for periodically grooved CLSs was investigated. The use of unetched sections is shown to be beneficial to efficient suppression of detrimental backscattering.
