Rod-type Multicore Fiber with 49 Cores for Coherent Beam Combination of Femtosecond Pulses

Abstract

We present an Ytterbium-doped, multicore, rod-type fiber comprising 49 signal cores. The fiber has already demonstrated kW-level output average powers. Additionally, we provide first results of coherent beam combination of stretched femtosecond pulses.
