Abstract

A passively cooled Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG unstable resonator microchip laser achieves a record-breaking brightness of 300 TW/(sr·cm2) with 26.4 MW peak-power, 10.5 mJ energy, 398 pS pulse duration, and M2 of 2.7 at 10 Hz repetition rate.
