High sensitivity beam quality measurements on large-mode-area fiber amplifiers

Abstract

We investigated the beam quality of ytterbium-doped large-mode-area fiber amplifiers using a high-sensitivity mode filter. Depending on the coiling diameter, more than 97% of the output power were contained within the polarized (1:200) TEM00 mode.
