Abstract

High-gain (G0~8) and gain-coefficient of 0.6cm−1 is demonstrated with a 1.9micron end-pumped Ho:YAG amplifier, >50% extraction efficiency is achieved relative to the stored energy, at only 1.2times the saturation fluence, delivering >50mJ/pulse (60Hz).
